Idaho County Mugshot Law
Idaho public-records law starts from access, but it is not unlimited. Idaho Code Section 74-102 gives every person the right to examine and copy public records unless a statute provides otherwise. Idaho Code Section 74-105 allows exemptions for law-enforcement and investigatory records. Those limits can matter when a mugshot is tied to an active criminal case.
Public-records callout: Idaho County displays current-list photos online, but the Records Division warns that some Sheriff's Office information cannot be accessed while cases are pending adjudication. A written request may be granted, denied, delayed, or redacted depending on the record and exemption.

Request Idaho County Booking Photo
A request for an official copy should go through the Idaho County public-records process, not through a screenshot or a third-party photo site. The Records Division says it cannot release reports without first receiving a written request, and it tracks reports and case information as law-enforcement material comes in.
The request should identify the record as a booking photograph or booking photo. Include the person's full name, arrest or booking date if known, case number or file number if known, date range, and whether the record pertains to the requester. Idaho County's public-records form asks for contact information, an Idaho residency declaration, the records requested, whether inspection or copies are wanted, and certification that the records will not be used as a mailing or telephone list.
A screenshot of a current roster image may help identify the record being discussed, but it is not the same as an official copy from the county custodian. If the photo is needed for a court, employment, licensing, immigration, or personal-file purpose, request the record from Idaho County and let the custodian decide what can be released under Idaho law.
If the person says the roster photo or name is wrong, give the county enough identifying detail to compare the booking record with the public entry. Mugshot Correction and Removal
No Idaho County page located in the research published a mugshot-specific removal policy. A dismissal, acquittal, or set-aside order is also not the same thing as automatic removal of a current jail photo. If the court case was dismissed, reduced, sealed, or otherwise resolved, use the court disposition as support when asking the records custodian to correct or limit a booking-photo record.
Idaho Code Section 19-2604 provides a possible dismissal or set-aside route in qualifying cases after probation or sentence terms. That court relief can matter when requesting a correction, but it does not prove that every booking image disappears from every records system. Avoid Commercial Mugshot Sites
No official Idaho County source endorses commercial mugshot publishing or pay-to-remove websites. Those sites may copy, delay, alter, or monetize information without reflecting a current court outcome. Use the county roster, the Records Division, iCourt, IDOC, VINELink, BOP, or ICE as the official-source chain.
For a person moved to state custody, the county booking photo workflow changes. The IDOC Resident/Client Search is for people incarcerated, on probation, or on parole under IDOC jurisdiction. It is not an Idaho County mugshot archive. BOP and ICE locators are also separate custody systems and do not provide a county-style public mugshot gallery for Idaho County.
Federal and State Photos
